International Research
Though it calls College Station, Texas home, Texas A&M University maintains a multitude of research connections with people and institutions in every part of the world. The University’s International Programs Office (IPO) serves as a key resource for faculty members and students engaged in or seeking working relationships with scholars from all over the world.
Texas A&M international research “by the numbers” (source: IPO):
- Active Memorandums of Agreement with 37 countries
- Over 3,700 international students enrolled
- Ranked 17th in the nation in the number of international students enrolled (Institute for International Education’s Open Doors report)
- Overseas centers in Europe and Mexico: Santa Chiara Study Abroad Center in Italy, European Union Center, Texas A&M University Center in Mexico
- Participation in more than 600 research and development projects in over 80 countries
- Bachelor of Science degrees in chemical, electrical, mechanical, and petroleum engineering offered at Texas A&M at Qatar, on the Qatar Foundation’s Education City campus. Thirty-two engineers have received their degree from Texas A&M at Qatar since 2007.
