Associate Research Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:
Specializes in some aspect of science or engineering discipline or design, construction, installation or operation of scientific equipment. With only limited direction, may plan experiment, design fixtures, jigs and special machinery and other specialty parts, oversee and supervise the day-to-day maintenance of a laboratory maintenance of a laboratory and equipment. Assume a leadership role in the development of equipment upgrades. This position is characterized by one who interprets and analyzes data, oversees the development of reports and supervises the procurement of parts and supplies for a dedicated equipment facility.

The nature of the duties are such that they require knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning, are predominantly intellectual and varied in character, and require consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience, plus 7 years experience in a field relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the assignment.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience, but not less than $2,000/month on a full-time basis. Salary is normally paid from research funds.
