Energy Resources Program Provides $1 Million For Alternative Energy Sources

by johnh last modified 2008-04-16 10:35

The Texas A&M Energy Resources Program (ERP) is providing grants totaling $1 million to three campus-based research teams — which were among 20 competing for this special funding — as part of the university’s quest for alternative energy sources to meet state and national needs.

Sharing in the million-dollar funding are research teams in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Science and Dwight Look College of Engineering. They will conduct research in areas ranging from the production of hydrogen, refinements to biofuel production and applications of nanotechnology to solar cells.

ERP funds research initiatives in advanced and emerging technologies in energy to foster interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research programs to address immediate and future energy needs of the State of Texas.
