by johnh last modified 2008-07-16 16:43

Interim Vice President for Research James A. Calvin testified recently before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology's Subcommittee on Research and Science Education. Dr. Calvin presented information about Texas A&M University's international research and educational relationships, with special emphasis on the university's existing activities in the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. He discussed the benefits to Texas A&M of the university's participation in cooperative efforts in research and education.

Dr. Calvin also provided examples of "novel cooperative relationships" involving the university, including the three China-U.S. Relations Conferences held in 2003, 2005 and 2007, the new Institute for Applied Mathematics and Computational Science (IAMCS), and Texas A&M's Borlaug Institute.

A transcript of Dr. Calvin's testimony to the Subcommittee on Research and Science Education is available here.
